In what has been one of the most historic presidential election in this country, the response from the college community has been enormous. As a college marketing company, we’ve had the opportunity to visit campuses across the country and witness first hand, the active support and opinions of college students. Whether it’s Obama supporters; Young Democrats; College Dems; Declare Yourself and College Republicans; each group should be applauded for their efforts:
Colleges and universities have also been very active while taking a non-partisan approach. In today’s election, colleges and universities are holding a number of events on campus where college students and faculty can watch the election results.
Here is a sampling of of coverage of today’s election results on campus:
- Boston University is giving away free pizza and red, white and blue cupcakes.
- New York University is holding events on plasma screens throughout campus.
- University of Alabama is holding an election viewing party at the Ferguson Center where there will be a live DJ, student panel and live media coverage.
- University of Florida is holding events in the Grand Ballroom and providing food and trivia throughout the evening.
