Summer Concerts for the College Student

Wednesday, February 29th, 2012

“Summer breeze makes me feel fine…”

Summertime means relaxation, fun times, and no class for college students. Money is being made, and with little bills to pay, it is a perfect time to attend a concert. There is a ton of access and capabilities to target college students at a concert through various ways. Whether it is offering a free drink with a purchased meal or $5 off a band t-shirt, students will interact for the few minutes it takes to receive the coupon.

With several summer tours in 2012 such as: The Bamboozle Festival, Dave Matthews Band, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw, college students will be present.

Students aged 18-24 is a marketers dream and concerts are the perfect place to find a dense population of this target demographic.  Students are in a relaxed and fun environment, which makes it easier to convey.

This can be an easy incentive for students. Interact with a brand for a few minutes and receive a few dollars worth of freebies.  For brands, there is a ton of potential at a summer concert to reach your target market.

Is there a summer tour we missed that you plan on attending?

The Gold Mine That Is Freshmen Orientation

Tuesday, February 28th, 2012

Freshmen orientation is a fun, exciting, and adrenalin-pumping week for many freshmen entering college for the first time.  Freshmen orientation is the schools informal introduction and inauguration to the college, which hold activities ranging from campus tours, physical activities, games, and seminars. Seniors and juniors lead the new students in the activities, so that the new student can bond with one another.  Many of the colleges also encourage that parents come to the first day of orientation, to help with paper work, moving into the dorms, and help the student get situated.

That is why Campus Solutions is organizing street teams on campus during orientation week to help brands make contact with future and potential customers. By having our street team on campus during orientation week we are able to introduce new products not only to the students but also to their parents.

A few of the things our street teams do during freshmen orientation week

  • Pass material to parents and students during seminars

  • Help in the moving process and by providing boxes with a certain brands logo

  • Offering promotional coupons to certain stores in return for joining certain companies social media sites

  • And the list of ideas are endless……

Come and speak with Campus Solutions and let’s talk about what we can do for you! Freshmen orientation is just around the corner and we feel confident that we can give your brand the edge it needs to penetrate campuses around the nation.

Creating A Smoke Free Campus For You

Friday, February 24th, 2012

You might remember your college campus filled with smoke, people grabbing a cigarette before, during and after class. Can you imagine not having to dart those smoke puffs every 5 feet? Not worrying about stepping on a partially lit cigarette that the person in front of you just dropped? According to U.S. News, in the beginning of 2012 over 600 colleges and universities announced they would be smoke-free. This leaves many nicotine addicts in the dust, with no place to go to smoke a cigarette, especially those that live in the dorms. This only leaves one option: quit!

For the majority of students that do not smoke (approximately 70%,) a smoke free campus would be a big plus. Secondhand smoke will become a thing of the past on these college campuses.

Americans for Nonsmokers Rights is doing a great job promoting smoke free campuses across the country and we hope this phenomenon will continue to grow.

For those students trying to quit, what a great incentive! For brands, there is so much potential for creative college media campaigns.

Campus Solutions Goes International

Thursday, February 23rd, 2012

Going to college in the United States now is a lot more interesting then it was 15 to 20 years ago. We are now seeing many different cultures on campus, enriching the learning experience with such vast diversity. There are numerous amounts of data on the benefits of diversity in higher education. It is also interesting to know that many large corporations embrace diversity into their hiring practices, allowing them to increase in their creativity and productivity.

Here at Campus Solutions we are well aware of the benefits of diversity and that is why we came up with a list of 10 schools with the most international students in the US.

School                                                       International Students        % of Total Enrollment

1)   University of Southern California               7,000              22%

2)   New York University                                      6,000              13%

3)   Columbia University                                      6,000              26%

4)   University of Illinois                                      6,000              16%

5)   Purdue University                                           6,000              15%

6)   University of Michigan                                 6,000              14%

7)   University of California                                6,000              15%

10)  Boston University                                         5,000              16%

We are working hard in finding new ways to target and penetrate these students. We want to introduce them to new valuable products and services that help them integrate with their peer group. Whether it be by sharing a beverage/snack, or sharing similar taste in apparel, or simply by asking each other for advise on consumer goods.

Campus Solutions are Heating Up the Slopes

Tuesday, February 21st, 2012

Cancun, Panama City, and South beach are a few of the locations that come to mind when we think of spring break. Channels like MTV, Spike, and Vh1 have in the past highlighted these events, but what about the slope loving, adrenaline seeking, outdoorsy college student? Campus Solutions is well aware that a large segment of the college population does not head south, but  many students travel north in search of the perfect vacation.
Campus Solutions  is partnering with many fortune 500 companies in order to enhance the spring break experience for college students. It’s a fun and exciting  atmosphere, where brands can add to the experience and get their name out. By segmenting and targeting these students we are able to come up with a plan that exposes the brand in a positive and entertaining way to large audience.  Creating memories that last a life time and starts building brand loyalty.

Adult Beverages (For Canadian resorts), Apparel, snacks, electronics, and many others categories can join in on the fun. For more information contact Campus Solutions at http://campussolutionsinc.com/.
