Go Green On Campus: Branded Reusable Grocery Bags

Campus Solutions, Inc. has introduced a series of go green on campus initiatives that fuse college advertising with environmental responsibility.  Each go green campaign is designed to generate a positive brand image among college students while providing a brand with great exposure on each campus involved.

Go Green On Campus- Branded Reusable Grocery Bags: When a shopper is given the choice of having their groceries bagged with either paper or plastic, they are faced with two options, both of which negatively effect the environment.  The toll to the environment from our country’s use of paper bags 14 million trees.  It takes 12 million barrels of oil to produce enough plastic bags for our country for a year.

Campus Solutions, Inc. is providing college students with reusable grocery bags at no cost to the student.  Each bag will be branded with our clients’ logos and message to go green.  Students in residence halls, fraternities, sororities and off-campus apartments will receive their reusable bag which can hold the equivalent to three plastic or paper bags.  The bags will also contain product samples and tips on what students can do to go green.  Campus Solutions’s street teams will also be stationed at local grocery stores providing each college-age student with their reusable grocery bag.

Harness the youth vote: Democrats target college students

In what is certain to be another close presidential election, the Democratic Party is hoping that a large turnout among young adults will solidify Barack Obama’s presidential nomination.  America’s youth has been particularly passionate for Barack Obama and the Party hopes that this election, young people will come out and vote in numbers.  With just over two months before the general election, a concentrated push to reach the 18-29 year old demographic is underway.

Back-to-college promotions

According to the National Retail Federation, back-to-college consumer spending accounted for over $47.3 billion in 2007.  Both parents and students are willing to spend on items that allow students to express themselves through college-related merchandise such as dorm room furniture, clothing and electronics.  College freshmen typically spend the most with $1,193.60 and those living in residence halls spend $1,529.45.

Campus Solutions is providing opportunities for companies to reach the collegiate demographic on-campus the days leading up to the first day of class.  A back-to-college tour will target major college campuses using a street team approach reaching students at residence halls, fraternities, sororities, student lawns and off-campus housing.  In addition, Campus Solutions, Inc. has partnered with national moving companies which may be utilized where professional movers can assist sororities and off-campus residents with their move.
