Eleven days after Hurricane Ike slammed the coast of Texas, residents of Houston are finally given permission to return home and assess property damage. Property losses are now estimated to be as high as Hurricane Katrina much the result of the Category 4 storm surge.
The city of Houston has received a great deal of support by those within the community. Over 1,600 college students, faculty and staff from the University of Houston have been lending their support through a number of relief efforts across Houston. The school developed a Cougars Helping Cougars Hurricane Ike Relief Fund collecting donations for UH faculty and students.
Campus Solutions, Inc. commends the University of Houston and their students and faculty volunteers who have responded in relief efforts. Members of fraternities and sororities are often the most socially active students on campus. These students generate great word of mouth advertising for a cause, a fraternity or sorority philanthropy event or an upcoming house party. For brands geared toward college students, a fraternity and sorority corporate sponsorship may be a great opportunity to promote your brand. Campus Solutions, Inc. can be the catalyst to carry out that vision.
Promotions of any sort prove more successful when there is a memorable and worthwhile experience that is tied in and associated with the sample or trial experience. In this endeavor, your young and open-minded core audience is in a low-key, relaxed college environment with their guard down while open-minded to have a good time. It is a social setting that involves their close friends and members of both sexes. Your marketing materials and sampling will surely be talked about and likely the ice-breaker conversation starter that initiates dialogue between men and women who are at an on or off-campus party. Having your brand paired with words like fun, party and social is exactly what will break through to this potential lifelong brand-loyal consumer group.

Sustained increased consumption of bottled water has taken a toll on our natural resources and has polluted our environment. Most common plastic in bottled water is PET plastics (polyethylene terephthalate) and is manufactured using natural gas and petroleum. This process exhausts more than seventeen million barrels of gas or the equivalent to fueling over one million cars for over one year. Colleges and universities are taking a “front seat” approach by developing high-quality water filtration systems on campus.
Institutes of higher learning in both the U.S. and Canada are reducing students’ pollution caused by these water bottles by developing water filtration systems on campus. Campus Solutions, Inc. is offering brands the opportunity to go green on campus by teaming up on these campus eco-friendly improvements. Campaigns against bottled water and the support of clean water programs on college campuses will improve a brand’s image among a demographic that rewards environmental responsibility through their purchase decisions. Numerous branding opportunities are available generating great exposure on each campus.
It may come as a shock to most people to learn that bottled water is not necessarily safer than most tap and well water. Campus Solutions, Inc. provides both secondary education and higher education institutions with consulting services and strategy development for their institutions’ water filtration systems. For more information, please visit our website at www.campussolutionsinc.com or feel free to reach Bryan Carbone at bryan@campussolutionsinc.com.

By taking simple steps, the average college student can significantly reduce the amount of water and energy they use on a daily basis.
Go Green On Campus- Water and Energy Conservation: Campus Solutions will be teaming up with brands to encourage college students to conserve water and energy through our clients’ on-campus initiatives. Acting as your brand ambassadors, our street teams will be providing college students with energy-saving fluorescent light bulbs. These bulbs will replace existing light bulbs in the students’ residence halls, off-campus apartments, fraternity and sorority houses. Two-sided branding will be available on the packaging material and your company’s street teams will be dressed in your company’s attire. Each student will receive their energy-saving fluorescent light bulb as well as your company’s marketing material and/or sample.
Students can use less energy by shutting down their computers at the end of the day and unplugging cell phone chargers whenever possible. Adjusting the thermostat just a degree or two (warmer in warmer months, cooler in cool months) saves energy without much effort.
Other opportunities include water conservation competitions both on-campus and at off-campus bars and parties. Turning off the water while brushing can save nearly 8 gallons of water per brush. Branded giveaways promoting turning off the water while brushing will be provided to students with your company’s message and logo.
Campus Solutions, Inc. will work with your company to promote these college brand-sponsored initiatives through some of the most effective college media outlets: college newspapers, campus postering and college street teams. For more information on how your company can go green on campus or any other college marketing strategy, please visit Campus Solutions’s website at www.campussolutionsinc.com or feel free to reach Bryan Carbone directly at Bryan@campussolutionsinc.com.

Campus Solutions, Inc. encourages our clients to consider methods to reduce energy consumption and conserve our natural resources on each college and off-campus event. One strategy to conserve energy is utilizing pedal energy. Bicycle pedal power creates enough energy for an event by transferring human energy into power. A bicycle will be attached to a generator and your event will be powered by students. This is also a great way to encourage student interaction and prizes may be awarded to students who bike for over five minutes.
Go Green On Campus- Pedal For Power: Using alternative energy powering your brand’s event is another great opportunity to improve your brand’s green image and show off your brand’s greenness to college students. Students will be keeping your event powered, generating sufficient energy to power video games, laptops, music and more. Campus Solutions provides a number of college marketing strategies allowing companies to Go Green On Campus. For more information, please visit Campus Solutions’s website or feel free to reach Bryan Carbone directly at Bryan@campussolutionsinc.com.

For products geared toward college athletes, Campus Solutions, Inc. is providing our clients with a precisely-targeted delivery network in order to reach active young men and women through campus event marketing through the college recreation centers.

We can capitalize on this trend by providing a product that they can rely on and sample at the time they need it most.
Campus Solutions is recognized for providing our clients with opportunities to target specific niches within the college student demographic. For more information, please visit Campus Solutions’s website or feel free to reach Bryan Carbone directly at Bryan@campussolutionsinc.com.
